

Marilee Fodey Mueller, age 84 of Columbus, passed away on May 8, 2019. She was born on September 3, 1934, in Columbus to Louella Ione and Orlando "Pete" Fodey. She graduated from Linden McKinley High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from The Ohio State University. She retired from the Columbus Public School System after 34 years of service as an admired Elementary School Teacher. She was a beloved Mother, Wife, Grandmother "Gigi", Daughter and Friend. She was heavily involved in volunteerism, at various times being part of fundraising efforts at many local institutions - The Up on the Roof Committee (The James Cancer Hospital at the Wexner Medical Center), The Olympus League, The Women's Board of the Franklin Park Conservatory, Twig (Nationwide Children's Hospital), and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra Women's Board, Childhood League and the Columbus Museum of Art Women's Board, to name a few. Her proudest achievement, however, was the establishment of the Four Seasons Dining Club where she organized events for decades. She was best known for her outgoing, hilarious personality, and love of her friends. Well-liked by so many, always a source of fun and laughter. She cherished any event shared with friends, spending months planning and looking forward to luncheons, dinner parties, and charity galas. A woman ahead of her time, she paid her way through college working three jobs and spent summers in her early career traveling the globe. Marilee was preceded in death by her parents and her steadfast and loving husband, Vincent. She is survived by her son Stephen Mueller, wife Melanie, and grandchildren Henley (age 14) and Rohan (age 12) of Grandview Heights; and daughter Dr. Sarah (Mueller) Carey, husband Brian, and grandchildren Gillian (age 13) and Truman (age 11) of Del Mar, California. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43220. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio. Memorials may take the form of contributions to The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
