

Marjorie F. (Detillian) Steele,96, a resident of New Carlisle, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2019. She was born in Mercer County, near Rockford, Ohio to the late Charles Dillon and Mary Katherine (Rettic) Sell. In addition to her parents, Marjorie is preceded in death by her siblings, LeRoy Sell of AZ, Olive Farnsley of Tuczon, AZ, Vera Kiper of MD, Madonna George of MD, and Vern Davis of Circleville, OH. She was a long time member of the Church of the Nazarene. During her lifetime she took missionary trips to Decision Time Ministries in Hot Springs, South Dakota, Community of Hope in Washington D.C, and Jamestown,Guyana. She retired from the Linen Services Department of Riverside Methodist hospital in Columbus, Ohio after 20 years of service. She also maintained a home sewing business for thirty three years.
Her first marriage, to P. Allen Detillian produced six children who survive her: Carol Montrose, New Albany, Ohio; Bonnie (Robert) Reed, Pataskala, Ohio; Judy Cook, Cleveland, Tennessee; Paula
(Michael) Detillian-Gill, Port Orange, Florida; Paul Detillian II, Columbus, Ohio; and Dr. Ralph Detillian, Columbus, Ohio. Seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She married Arthur
Steele on September 17, 2001. Her two stepchildren, Donna Mell, Miamisburg, Ohio and David (Kathy) Steele, Centerville, Ohio also survive her.
Marjorie was known for her sense of humor and willingness to tell a joke which endeared her to all who knew her. She was also known as an excellent seamstress. In her later years she did a great deal of charity work crocheting caps that were donated to the needy as far away as Ecuador. She also assembled over two hundred blankets for the “blocks to blankets” program at United Senior Services in Springfield, Ohio. The blankets were donated to the poor as far away as Pine Ridge, South Dakota.
Her family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2019, from 2-4 and 6-8pm, at the Reynoldsburg Freewill Baptist Church, 9508 Taylor Road SW, Reynoldsburg, 43068, where her Funeral Service will be held at 10am, Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Pastor John Nunley, officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estates. Contributions may be made to the Kingston Community Church, PO Box 699, Kingston, Ohio 45644 in her memory.
