

Mark A. Losey, age 41, died December 26, 2009. He was born May 28, 1968 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to David Losey and Cathy LeVan. He was class president of Bellefontaine H.S. class of ’86. President of Lamda Chi Alpha fraternity, Miami University class of ’90. Received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve in ’94. While in law school, he was a Big Brother and he was a Naturalist at Camp Willson during college. Mark worked tirelessly for the Democratic Party and served at the Attorney General’s Office as General Counsel for Law Enforcement for the state of Ohio. Prior to that, he served as the Logan County Liaison for Senator Sherrod Brown’s campaign. He was a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives 15th Congressional District in 2006. He was the Ohio coordinator of Honor Flight, helping veterans travel to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials. Mark was fearless, strong, and a pillar of integrity. He had an amazing sense of calm, a wonderful laugh, and was the best dad ever to his beloved son Elijah. Mark is preceded in death by his grandparents, Margaret Wren, and John and Margaret Losey; stepfather, Ron LeVan; and uncle, Terry Wren. He is survived by his best friend, and love of his life, Tess Losey; son, Elijah Joseph Losey; mother, Cathy LeVan of Bellefontaine, OH; father, David (Nancy) Losey; sisters, Deanne (David) LaRoche, and Valerie Losey Bright; brothers, Matt (Libby) Losey, and Ben (Lindsey) Losey; grandfather, David Wren of Bellefontaine; step siblings, Karla (Rob) Scott, Ronald W. (Tara) LeVan Jr., Dwayne (JoAnne) LeVan, Ryan LeVan, Denise Houser, Dean (Amy) LeVan, and Darin (Megann) LeVan; many nieces and nephews; and a wealth of close friends he held dearly. Family will receive friends from 3-6 pm Thursday, December 31, 2009 and from 12-3 pm on Friday, January 1, 2010 at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Rd. A service will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 2, 2010 The Church at Mill Run, 3500 Mill Run Drive Hilliard, OH 43026.
