

Mark Alan Shutt-born 08/24/52 passed away on 06/15/15 surrounded by his family and friends. Mark was a "near life long" resident of Upper Arlington, graduate of UAHS (1970), and The Ohio State University (1974).
Following his graduation Mark was employed by the Ohio Department of Youth Services and had stayed in contact with many of his former coworkers over the last 30 years. Mark was self employed and well known in the restaurant and bar industry throughout Columbus.
He was proceeded in death by his loving mother Juanita and is survived by his father Thomas (Sandy Clary) as well as his wife of 34 years Debbie and their son Tom (Kristen Rocca) who he considered his proudest accomplishment in life. He is also survived by his much loved sister Jennifer (Don) Long and his brother Kevin Shutt.
He will be missed by many other family members and friends. Mark was very active in the UA community including his membership in UA Rotary, attendance at UA City Council meetings, but his greatest passion was his involvement in the Upper Arlington Citizens Police Academy where he served as President of the Alumni Group. Mark was also a longtime member of Charity Newsies and treasured the times he and his father shared with Newsies events.
There will be no services at this time but there will be a celebration of Mark's life at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations can be made in Mark's memory to support the UA Citizen's Police Academy through the UA Community Foundation-UACPA Alumni Fund atwww.uacommunityfoundation.com or to Charity Newsies at 4300 Indianola Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43214.
