Mary Eileen Bass passed away on January 6th 2018. When diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago the doctors gave her 6 months to live, but she refused to accept those terms. She was a fighter. She was the kind of person who would always push you to dream big and work ferociously to achieve those dreams. She was your greatest cheerleader, coach, and confidant. And when you fell off that horse, she would be the first one there to pick you up, dust you off, and push you to get right back on. She was a proud woman, sister, mother, and grandmother, who persevered despite all the odds. She was a champion. Mary is survived by her husband Mark Wellington Bass, two beautiful daughters Samantha Jean Bass and Chelsea Lynn Bass, adored son Taylor Chapin Bass, and two beloved granddaughters Margaret Eileen Bass and Bernadette Mary Bass. She was a lover of gifts, dry martinis, and turner classic movies. And to anyone who had the privilege of calling her a friend, Mary Eileen Bass was simply the best. Better than all the rest. Better than anyone... anyone we've ever met. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery this coming Saturday January 13th at 11AM. All are welcome. The memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church this coming Saturday January 13th at 7PM. Following mass a celebration of Mary's life will be held at the Parish Life Center.
