Mary Ellen Evans

Mary Ellen Evans, age 84, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025 peacefully with her family by her side. Mary Ellen was born on February 6, 1940 to Stanley C. and Jessie A. (Locke) Stillwell in Columbus, Ohio. Mary Ellen was a kind and nurturing person, creating a sense of warmth and stability for her family. She always caring for the animals around her. Feeding the birds, squirrels, and cats is such a thoughtful way to connect with nature. A great way for Mary Ellen to keep her mind sharp and pass the time was doing word search puzzles, which can be really relaxing and satisfying, especially when you find that hidden word. Mary Ellen enjoyed genealogy uncovering family stories and connections across generations. Preceded in death by her father, Stanley Stillwell; mother, Jessie (Robert) Landis; and husband, John Evans. Survived by her children, Elaine (Joseph) Gleason and Brent Spaeth; granddaughters, Ashlee (Carlton) Watts and Nicole (Toby) Schmitt; numerous great grandkids; other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 11:30 to 12:30 pm at Advantage Funeral Home by Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229 where funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm.
