

Mary Ellen Fleming passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Inn at Summit Trail in Reynoldsburg. Mary Ellen was born on October 27, 1934 to H. Everett and M. Ethel Webster in Russell, PA. She spent most of her adult life residing in Hubbard, Ohio, prior to moving to Columbus in 2001 with her husband to be closer to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Merle, whom she married on March 21, 1958. She is survived by her children: son, Jeff of Columbus, and daughter Laura and two granddaughters, Taylor and Jordan of Tampa, Florida. Another of her "boys", Miles Rudder and special friends, Dan and Kathy Moore who were all an integral part of her support system during her extended illness.
Professionally, she was a receptionist and administrative assistant over the years. However, her primary focus and role she loved most was that of wife, mother and grandmother. She was a woman with a strong faith and was very determined and independent. She was an avid gardner, baker, seamstress, and quilter. She had a beautiful soprano voice and was recently remembered as always humming or whistling a pleasant tune. She was artistic and loved to paint for many years in her Monday night painting class with her good friend Dixie. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her most.
There will be a brief 30 minute visitation at 11AM followed by her funeral service on Thursday, January 25th. This will be held at Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Rd, Niles, OH 44446. Immediate family will accompany her to her final resting place at Thompson Hill Cemetery, Russell, PA.
