Mary Lynn Judy (Shust), age 70, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Mary was born on April 12, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Dan” Daniel Judy, who passed away just 26 days earlier; her parents, John and Jeanne Shust; and her sister-in-law, Susan Judy. Mary is survived by her twin sons, Mike Judy and Nick (Caitlain) Judy; her cherished granddaughters, Della and Riley Judy; her sister, Helen Shust; her brother-in-law, Steve Judy; her sister-in-law, Barb (Tim) McCombs; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
Mary was a graduate of Bishop Ready High School, earned a degree from The Ohio State University, and later received her Master’s in Education from Marygrove College. She dedicated her career to education as a math teacher at Barrett Middle School and Westmoor Middle School, where she impacted countless students through her care, patience, and commitment.
A devoted Catholic, Mary was a faithful member of St. Agatha Church. Her faith guided the way she lived her life and cared for others.
Mary was the rock of her family and its steady caretaker. She raised twin boys while also caring for her quadriplegic husband for nearly forty years with extraordinary devotion, strength, and grace. To all who knew their story, Mary’s commitment was nothing short of inspiring. Few people have ever embodied the promise of “in sickness and in health” the way Mary did. The love, sacrifice, and tireless care she gave to Dan were truly remarkable.
She also loved sports and was a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Cincinnati Reds. She enjoyed cheering on her teams and sharing those moments with family.
Mary’s life was defined by love, faith, service, and resilience. Though her family and friends grieve this sudden loss, they take comfort in the example she set and the love she leaves behind.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3, at the Schoedinger NW Chapel from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 3:30 p.m.
