Mary Kathryn “Kay” McCauley, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Kay was born on June 1, 1936, in Uhrichsville, Ohio, to Patrick and Leona Blackwell. She retired from Ohio Bell after 30 years of dedicated service. Kay was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Uhrichsville, where she participated in the choir and youth group, and where she married her beloved husband, William. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening, and cooking, especially when it brought her family together for shared meals. Kay kept a well-run home, had a wonderful sense of humor, and took pride in caring for those she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” McCauley, in 2007; her parents; and her sisters, Eleanor and Darlene. Kay is survived by her children, Tim (Luann) McCauley, Steven McCauley, and Sharon (Michael) Marcum; grandchildren, Jesse, Patrick, and Ryan Marcum, Julie McCauley, and Jennifer Hacker; her sister, Patricia Huston; her beloved cat, Princess; and many other relatives and friends.
