

Mary Ann Montoney, 86, of Columbus, formerly of Delaware died Tuesday, August 2, 2011. She was born in Columbus on August 7, 1924 to the late Pearl and Mary (Buerner) Ward. She was a 1942 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Columbus and retired from BMI. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Delaware and most recently St. Agnes of Columbus. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of the Delaware Chapter of TOPS, where she was a weight recorder. She belonged to the Euchre Club and was a sample lady doing food demonstrations at local grocery stores. She loved to travel and her favorite activity was eating out. She was preceded in death in 1983 by her husband William David Montoney and eight brothers. She is survived by a brother Joseph J. (Ruth) Ward, children Paul David (Connie) Montoney, Sue Ellen Tier, Toni Lee Montoney and Nancy Ann (Ron) Derenberger, eight grandchildren Michael Radcliffe, Jeffrey Montoney, twins, Melissa Mitchell and Christel Elkins, Kari Patterson, Randy Montoney, Anna Napolitano and Amy Spencer, thirteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and close friends. Family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High (1/2 mile south of I-270) where a funeral service will be held Friday at 1 PM with Father Kevin Lutz officiating. Interment will follow in Kingwood Memorial Park.
