Mary Elizabeth Schumacher, 86 of Newark, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 3, 1924 to the late Benjamin Sheridan and Margaret Cecil (Ruffin) McQuaid.
Mary Elizabeth proudly served her country in Womens’ Army Corp. during the Korean Conflict. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her loving family.
Survivors include two children, Duane Schumacher of Newark and Elizabeth S. Schumacher of Waldoboro, Maine; two grandchildren, Danielle S. and Morgan L.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother and sister, Cecil S. “Bubba” McQuaid and Nell Holt Lindstrom.
