

Mary Evelyn Sharp, age 76, of Columbus, died April 22, 2014 at Altercare of Canal Winchester. She was born March 19, 1938 in Mound City, Missouri to the late Lloyd and Lula Whipple. She grew up in the Church of God of Guthrie, Oklahoma and was very religious. She fought the good fight until the day that she passed. Mary enjoyed collecting books, watching birds, and going to auctions. She also loved her dogs and was an avid Ohio State fan. The most important thing to Mary on this earth was her family and she loved to spend time with them. She will be deeply missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Melvin H. Sharp, son, Melvin R. Sharp, and siblings, Florence Schafer, Kate Guyer, Violet Sinkhorn, Marie Matthews, and Lois Sharp. Mary is survived by her children, Kathy Sharp, Jeff Sharp, Stephen (Kristen) Sharp, and Tim (Rhonda) Sharp; grandchildren, Meleata, Viet, Amalie, Kaley-Anna, Kevin, Sonya, Tonya, Jon, Jessie, Nick, and Megan; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Peggy) Whipple; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visitation will be 12-1pm Friday, April 25, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will follow at 1pm with Rev. Orville Berry officiating. Interment Asbury Cemetery.
