

Mary Byrnes Williams, age 68, died at Kobacker House on October 13, 2009 with her two sons by her side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mary was born in Boston, MASS and later moved to Columbus where she graduated from Upper Arlington High School and The Ohio State University. She married David Ford in 1964 and loved him with all of her heart until his death in 1977. Mary lived her life with a deep and intense devotion to her children and grandchildren and was always a pinnacle of strength and compassion to her family, friends, and causes she supported. Mary was elegant and inspiring and devoted much of her time, talent, and treasure to The Childhood League Center, Junior League of Columbus, TWIG #61 of Children’s Hospital, and various hospice organizations in Columbus and Naples, FL. Mary was also a member of the Columbus Symphony and Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Mary is survived by her sons and daughters–in-law, Greg and Dawn Ford and Nick and Casie Ford; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Holly and Forest Driggs; grandchildren, Gage, Wyatt, Maddie, Luke, Parker, Caroline, and Lilly; brother, Richard Byrnes; niece, Cheryl Davin; and nephew, Shawn Byrnes. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 17 at 10 AM at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E State St. Family will also receive friends there on Friday October 16 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
