

Mattie Mae Jackson (nee Lowery), age 82, went to be with her Lord, July 3, 2011. She was born May 14, 1929 to the late William and Ozzie Lowery in Cuthbert, Ga. Mattie was a funny, loving, and generous person. She was a woman of sound advice. She was very supportive, forgiving, and very compassionate about her religion. She has been a member of First A.M.E Zion Church for 63 years. She loved being a member of Prayer Partners and playing Pokeno once a month. She retired from Lazarus with over 20 years of service. She loved to bake and share delicious treats with her family. She looked after her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. Her spirit will live on in the lives she touched. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by husband, Simeon Jackson; niece, Phyllis Davenport Harden. She is survived by sister-in-law, Mildred Davenport; nephews, Otis (Joyce) Davenport, Larry (Bonita) Davenport, Glen (Sandra) Davenport; great-nephew, Rev. Maurice (Tyesha) Harden; many loving sister-in-laws and brother-in-law; faithful friends, Ethel Bray and Clarence Jeter; faithful hospice companions, Jan Joyner, Helen Strong and Elaine Fleming; a host of extended family, nieces, and nephews.
