Maureen E. Kraft, age 37, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at The Ohio State James Cancer Hospital following a courageous battle against cancer. Maureen was born in Toledo, Ohio to Frank and the late Betty (Czika) Liller, where she attended Cardinal Stritch High School. She excelled at basketball, cross country, and track, basketball being her strongest passion. At John Carroll University she majored in English and developed a life-long love for writing. Friends, family, and devoted readers of her blog always enjoyed her sarcastic, light hearted reflections on everyday life. After moving to Columbus, she became the marketing manager at the Ohio State Medical Association for ten years. Later at the Professional Insurance Agents Association, she found her true career, working with many wonderful friends and colleagues. Maureen, a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, loved the outdoors and camping almost as much as the Cleveland professional sports teams, especially the Browns, a love she inherited from her father and grandfather. Another of her passions was “bargain” shopping, refusing to abandon a great deal whether she needed it or not. Maureen’s greatest fulfillment blossomed in her family. She loved being a wife and a mother and was an amazing one at that. Maureen is survived by her husband of 13 years, Perry; sons Levi and Nathaniel; father Frank Liller; brother Frank Matthew (Lena) Liller; parents-in-law Dave and Barb Kraft; brother-in-law Kive Kraft; sisters-in-law Keena (Jason) Rich, Kristine and Kiley Kraft; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-6 PM Sunday at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Rosary Service 6 PM Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Monday, December 5, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway. Rev. Fr. Jim Colopy Celebrant with Rev. Fr. Daniel Millisor Concelebrant. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Maureen’s memory to the James Comprehensive Cancer Hospital. ( www.cancer.osu.edu )
