Melinda Sprow

Melinda "Mindy" Ann Sprow of Port Clinton, Ohio (previously of Wauseon, Ohio) passed away peacefully on May 4, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born March 26, 1958 in Cleveland to the late Joanne (nee Specht) and William Mackin. She was also welcomed into God's eternal congregation by her beloved husband Steven Sprow. Mindy is survived by her daughter Shannon (David) Haas of Maumee, Ohio and by the two bright lights of her life, her young grandchildren Tripp and Isabella Haas; older brother Thomas (Renee) Mackin along with niece McKinsey Mackin (fiancé Ben Roberts); nephew Tyler (Beth) Mackin, all of Salt Lake City, UT; sister Susan (Doug) Rose of Columbus, Ohio along with nephew Geoffrey Rose of Reynoldsburg, OH. Mindy graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1980 with a degree in Education. She enjoyed college life as a sister in the Delta Zeta sorority. After completing her Master of Education degree at Western Georgia University, she spent the next thirty years teaching special education in Virginia, Georgia and finally Ohio where she taught with the Ohio Virtual Academy. Continuing her efforts to share and give, when time permitted, she volunteered with Stein Hospice at the Encore Shop in Sandusky, OH. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams St., Port Clinton, OH 43452. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Ottawa County, 2424 E. Sand Rd., Port Clinton, OH 43452 in Mindy's memory. Private interment at Sunset Memorial Park in N.
