Michael James Joyce

Michael James Joyce, 61, of Reynoldsburg passed away suddenly Monday, August 15, 2011 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born July 11, 1950 in Fairbanks, Alaska to the late Al Joyce and Maurine Walton Joyce. Michael was a financial advisor with Allstate Financial. Mike was a member of Sawmill Baptist Church and attended Jersey Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He loved the Lord, and was a wonderful son, husband, father and grandfather. Mike was always a sympathetic friend to anyone in need. He enjoyed music, and was a talented singer and drummer. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Angell-Joyce, mother, Maurine Joyce; children, Kelsi (Josh) Timm, Kourtney (Adam) Hoffarber, Lucas James Joyce, Shannon (James) Kotter, step-children, Carrie (Matt) Lowis and Michael Mullins; daughter-in-law, Jamie Kline, grandchildren, John and Camryn Lowis, Morgan and Mallory Mullins, Logan and Shane Timm, Eli and Ingrid Kotter, brother, Joseph (Leslie) Joyce of Salt Lake City, UT; sister, Jenna Joyce of Los Angeles, CA and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Friday, September 16, 2011 at Jersey Baptist Church, 13260 Morse Road Southwest, Pataskala, Pastor David Nuhfer and Mark Hutsko, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jersey Baptist Church, Sawmill Baptist Church, 10635 Sawmill Rd., Powell, OH 43065 or to Pilot Dogs, Inc., 625 West Town St. Columbus, OH 43215.
