Michael Paul Strickland

Michael Paul Strickland, age 71, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Ocala, FL. He was born on July 22, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Doris (Ratliff) Wagner. Mike was a Vietnam veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was a talented mechanic and truck driver for many years. Mike was a sweet soul who never knew a stranger, and he would give you the shirt off of his back. He loved animals and enjoyed playing golf. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Joan (Carroll) Strickland; son, Paul Kallenberger; daughter, Michelle A. Hutchinson; son, Michael Dwayne Strickland; grandsons, Justin Michael Strickland and Patrick Shouldis; brother, John (Tina) Long; extended family members and close friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held at 1pm Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Humane Society, or the ASPCA.
