It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nancy Sue Buongiorne, of Dublin, Ohio. On October 26, 2025, Nancy departed this world peacefully, surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience.
Nancy was born on August 2, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to Lloyd and Cecile Ash. She graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn in 1954 and later earned her degree from Michigan State University.
A proud and devoted mother of four, Nancy was known for her resourceful spirit and unwavering dedication to her family. She worked tirelessly to create a warm and welcoming home, instilling in her children the lasting values of hard work and perseverance.
Through her warmth and infectious laugh, Nancy found joy in humor and never missed an opportunity to share a good laugh with friends and family. She also had a passion for cooking and built an extensive collection of recipes, always eager to prepare new dishes for those she loved. Nancy took great pride in her years supporting the leadership team as Executive Assistant to the CEO at Burgess & Niple.
Her 31-year marriage to Albert Buongiorne was a beautiful partnership built on love, devotion, and mutual support. Together, they made their home in Hilliard and later in Dublin, where they shared a life filled with laughter and companionship.
Nancy was a woman of remarkable strength, a cancer survivor whose courage and optimism inspired all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the stories we tell, the traditions we keep, and the love she instilled in us all.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert, who passed on December 28, 2022. She is survived by her brother, Paul Ash of Dearborn, Michigan; her children, Cindy Kaufmann of East Tawas, Michigan; Linda Stitt (Jim) of El Dorado Hills, California; Anton “Tony” Kaufmann (Liz) of Powell, Ohio; and Andrew “Andy” Kaufmann of Rogers, Arkansas; along with nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
