I will always remember the first day I met you. I will always remember the camp site we met at. I will always remember all of our memories, all of our laughs, all of our experiences. I think about you and your family every day.

Dear Nikki

I remember the first day I met you in Atlanta. When we both told each other we don’t have many friends because most people aren’t genuine or kind. 

We spent hours at your kitchen table solving the world issues, and even more hours at the dog park with Howie and East. I’m grateful for the holidays we spent together, you made sure I would never be alone. 

Thank you for being my best friend since the day I met you, no matter how far away you were. You know, I’m forever so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished. You are the strongest person I’ve ever known. 

You are the reason I’ve been able to accomplish goals, and have always pushed me to the best.

It’s hard to imagine where I would be without you. It’s even harder to imagine who I’m going to talk to everyday. From all of the food pictures, the endless conversations about conspiracy theories, and of course our action figures and toy car collections! 

You always had the brightest imagination and the most creative ideas.

I always told you, I’d do anything for one more kitchen table conversation with you. No matter how far, you’ve always been a call or multiple text messages away.

The most beautiful soul, and the smartest person I could have ever asked for in this life. 

Lastly, I really wanted you to know, I finally learned how to use the air fryer you told me to get a few weeks ago! (I’ll still be sending you my foods pictures everyday, sorry) ❤️

I have loved you since we met almost a decade ago. From the moment that I met you, I knew you were something special. We were both loud and opinionated and stubborn as hell, but that’s what made me love you. 

Over the years, you have been my best friend, my partner in crime, and, most importantly, my love. I am forever grateful that we shared so many moments together, both the good and the bad, I wanted to be there with you for all of it. 

It breaks my heart that you are gone. I have never been able to imagine my life without you. My love for you has always been unconditional, and my greatest blessing was to know you for you.

This is one of my favorite photos of nikki! She was unique and a unconformist. She turned an ordinary day doing ordinary things into an adventure. My grandmother would have described her personality as Vivid! Your life was legendary and I'm sure you are adding a touch of bodaciousness in heaven. These eyes held so much love for everything and everyone around her. Watching her interact with strangers, Howie and the ones she held closest to her. She was the light of every room (if she liked it or not) and provided some of the kindest most memorable moments of pure love and happiness! Talk about that laugh!!! She had the best intent for everything she cared for.

Nikki was the most beautiful person I have ever encountered. She had the best laugh & her smile was infectious. I remember she would always manage to giggle during the most inappropriate times & I swear I inherited that tendency in adulthood because of her. I remember how much she loved her dogs - London, Sandy, and Howie. She would always excitedly say “SAY HI LONDON” on FaceTime when we’d spend hours on the phone talking with each other. She had such a deep love of music and shared every artist with me from Machine Gun Kelly to Mayday Parade. I will always look back fondly on the funny uniform she wore when she worked at Davios - I think their Mac and Cheese will always be my favorite per her suggestion. I am so grateful for the times she would come for my birthday. It meant so much but having those memories is now something I will always cherish. She had a heart of gold. I don’t think a day will go by where I don’t think of her. I don’t think that I will ever not miss her. Nikki, I love you more than you knew. I would do anything for one more call or one more text. I will never forget you.

I am so deeply saddened by the news of Nikki’s passing. Nikki was such a great friend and such a fun person to be around. I remember her being able to make us all laugh every single time we were together. She is one of the people you meet in life that you can never forget. I remember the first day I met Nikki- she was touring the school and was wearing a blue striped top, white jeans, and sperry loafers. I remember later on telling her how she looked like sailor that day and her telling us that she actually hated the outfit but wore it because she thought that’s how 14 year old girls in private school dressed. She was truly one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. One of those once-in-a-lifetime personalities you never forget. I am praying for all of yall and I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.

Kas loved the woods. On many occasions, she said she wanted to live there forever. I believe the trees can feel her now. She is a part of them. Her roots firm in the ground, standing strong. Steady. Finally still. Finally belonging. Today the sky was painted with orange and blue. Today she reminded me that she is standing right here with all of us.
