

Nicole Lynn “Nikki” Shelpman, 27, of Circleville, passed away at Brown Memorial Home, on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 as a result of an auto accident which occurred on September 27, 2010. She was born November 3, 1983 in Columbus, the daughter of Ronald Robert Swank and Stacey Lynn (Shelpman) Swank. Nikki attended TeaysValley schools and graduated from LoganElmHigh School in 2002. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army where she served with the military police in West Point, NY. Nikki attended OU – Chillicothe where she studied law enforcement and worked as a corrections officer at Orient. She found her real calling when she began working as an STNA at Lynnwood Assisted Living in Lancaster. Nikki is survived by her son, Conner Robert “Bug” Shelpman; and daughter, Emma Mae Shelpman; her parents, Ron and Stacey; brother, Robert “Robbie” Flora of Lancaster; and sisters, Brandy Flora of Circleville and Amber Swank (James) VanGundy of Kingston; grandparents, Joe and Teresa Hoover Puluso of Illinois; special friends, Sharri and Athena; and numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Nikki loved reading mysteries and the Twilight series of books as well as watching CSI and vampire shows on t.v. She was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns, the Beatles and John Lennon. She was known by her family and friends as being very caring, having a big heart and was always the peacemaker in any disputes. Her greatest joy was her children. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m.Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Elliott officiating. Burial will be in HarrisonTwp.Cemetery where Nikki will be laid to rest next to her great-grandparents, Robert and Betty Hoover. AMVETS Post 2256 will provide military honors at the graveside. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
