

Nurettin Kutlu (Adam Turk), age 90, of Upper Arlington passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010. Nurettin was married in 1949 to Fikret and moved to Columbus in 1956. Nurettin earned a Master’s Degree from The Ohio State University in Civil Engineering, where he also did his Doctorial studies. By trade he was a Civil Engineer, retiring from the State of Ohio and from the United Nations. Nurettin also retired from the Turkish Military with a rank of Major. An avid painter and student of history, he is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Fikret; children, Gulhan Kutlu, Filiz (Ibrahim) Kayali and Sinan “Tony” (Michelle) Kutlu; grandchildren, Aliya, Arin and Taner. Service for Nurettin will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 1pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221; interment to follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association in Nurettin Kutlu’s name.
