Nye Edward Norris

Nye E. Norris, age 97, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018. He was born on April 13, 1921 in Coshocton, Ohio to the late Benjamin F. and Fannie B. (Atwood) Norris. He grew up in Coshocton and graduated from Conesville High School. Nye also attended Franklin University. Nye proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Florence Wilson on June 26, 1948 in Kentucky. He retired from North American Aviation with over 30 years of service. Nye was an avid golfer playing two times a week into his 80's. He was a conservationist with "Snakehunters" at Rockwell Park, a lifetime VFW member, a Buckeye "nut", and an accomplished woodworker. In addition to his parents, Nye was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Norris. He is survived by his son, Eric Norris; granddaughters, Jessica (JP) O'Donnell and Kathryn (Phillip Gasperowich) Norris; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Logan; brother, Ernest Norris; nephew, Mark Norris and niece, Karen Jones. Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral will be held 10 am Saturday, December 22, 2018.
