Patricia L. Blume

Pat dedicated her life to education, working as an elementary school teacher for many years. Passionate about teaching, she took great pride in shaping young minds and inspiring a love for learning in generations of students. Her warmth, patience, and creativity made her not only a gifted educator but also a cherished mentor and friend.

Beyond the classroom, Pat was an accomplished artist, known for her beautiful paintings, sculptures, and ceramics that captured the world through her unique perspective. Whether working with bold colors, intricate forms, or delicate details, her artwork reflected her deep appreciation for beauty and creativity. She also had a lifelong love for tap dancing, finding pure joy in the rhythm and movement of dance.

Pat was a proud alumna of The Ohio State University and a lifelong Buckeyes fan, cheering on her team with enthusiasm through every season.

Pat and her sister Nancy shared an unbreakable bond, one that was even featured in Inside Upper Arlington, Arlington News on July 23, 2003, in the article “Blume Sisters Scream for Ice Cream.” Their shared love of ice cream and their famous 1956 Bastian Blessing soda fountain, which served countless sweet treats in their home, became a beloved part of their story and brought smiles to all who knew them.

Pat will be missed by her many dear friends and neighbors in the Coventry Road community of Upper Arlington, Ohio. Her kindness, creativity, and joyful spirit will continue to be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Nancy, and her parents.

A graveside service honoring Pat and Nancy Blume will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Green Lawn Cemetery, 1000 Greenlawn Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio State University Foundation or Columbus Humane Society.
