Paul E. Jewell

Paul E. Jewell, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2009. He was born in Snowville, Ohio, on April 21, 1937, to the late Leonard and Goldie Jewell, and he was a graduate of Harrisonville High School. He married his wife, Carol, in 1956, and the two moved to the Columbus area where Paul began a 26-year career with Borden Chemical Inc. He then worked for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, where he retired after 16 years. Paul was a very hard worker, always planning ahead for retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening tomatoes, and watching sports, especially the Reds and the Browns, but mostly, he loved to play golf. Paul was preceded in death by his brothers, Pearlie, Raymond, George, Richard, and Cecil. He is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Carol; children, Gordon (Sheila) Jewell, and Al (Lisa) Jewell; siblings, Lennie Jewell, Anestine Frazier, and Irene Burritt; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2010, at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
