Phyllis L. Jenkinson

Phyllis L. Jenkinson, age 83, passed away October 19, 2015, at Kobacker House. Phyllis was born January 19, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Leslie and Ann Larrimer and was the youngest sister to Jane Dyer and the late Edna Sniff. Phyllis graduated high school from Columbus St. Joseph Academy in 1950 and earned her degree in education from The Ohio State University. Phyllis taught elementary school for 25 years starting at Columbus Boys Academy, later in McAllen, TX and River Forest Academy in Covington, LA. It was her honor to be recipient of the American Legion Award and member of the DAR-Wharton Chapter. After retiring from teaching, she was office manager in her husband's Louisiana podiatry practice where she was affectionately known as "Mama Doc". She is dearly remembered and survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Edwin Oliver Jenkinson; her three daughters: Diana (Jim) Davis, Julie LaPerle, Jennifer (Tim) Mahnke; and her six grandchildren: Julie, David and Chelsea Britton; Lily, Faith and Oliver Mahnke. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Linworth Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 6200 Linworth Rd, Worthington, OH. Arrangements by Schoedinger Worthington Chapel.
