Phyllis Moore Syfert

Phyllis Moore Syfert, age 85, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Phyllis was born September 13, 1930 to the late Carl Jordan and Alma Keller; also preceded in death by her stepmother Mary Jordan, her first husband Jess E. Moore, second husband Wayne Syfert and her sister, Nancy Squibb. Phyllis graduated from East High School in 1948 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage with Jess. Following his passing, she was blessed with a second marriage, to Wayne, for one short year. She was a longtime member of Brookside Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, reading, music and spending time with her family. Phyllis is survived by her six children, Cheryl (Tom) Legg, Patricia (Bill) Garey, Robert (Jodie) Moore, Michael Moore, Jayne (Jim) Woodruff and Pamela (Chris) Miller; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, sister, Barbara (Ed) Granger and stepbrother Bob Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232 where family will welcome friends from 1:30-2:30pm; Pastor Kenny Queener, officiating. Private entombment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of The Woodlands and Heartland Hospice for their care and support.
