

Our family sadly announces the unexpected passing of Quintin Tyler Cotner, 28, of Montgomery, AL, who passed on December 4, 2021. He was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1993 in Plano, TX to Ida Louise Cotner-Common and Albert Roisum. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Faye (Ralph) Farmer-Sedgwick, John L. Cotner and Lawrence and Ida Alberta Farmer; his Aunt Juanita (Theodore) Good, his aunt Jane (Dan) Hardin, Knoxville, TN, his Aunt Edna (Howard) Richardson, Marion, OH.
Greatly grieving his loss are his mother, Ida Louise Cotner-Common, Montgomery, AL; his brother, Zachary Common, Montgomery, AL; his Aunts, Eliza Annette Cotner, Dallas, TX, Susan Cotner, Columbus, OH, Latonya (Robert) Lattimore, Knoxville, TN, and Elizabeth Gregory, Los Angeles, CA; his Uncles, Shelton (Beverly) Cotner, Muscle Shoals, AL, Reginald Cotner, Columbia SC, Scot Cotner, Knoxville, TN; Cousins, Phillip Dupree Jr., Columbus, Ohio, Shenika and Reggie Cotner, Indianapolis, IN, Nevea, Deziah, and Damia Dupree, Columbus, Ohio; numerous other cousins and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Quintin attended Robert E. Lee High School and then graduated from Success Unlimited Academy. Quintin was a very accomplished 1st chair trumpet player and was talented to play all of the other horns as well. He competed in all sports and was an accomplished athlete as a swimmer, golfer, football, basketball and tennis. He loved to cook and show off his skills. He lived an impactful life which was filled with adventure.
His family and friends knew him as a huge supporter of others, fun loving, energetic and competitive young man who never met a stranger. As a toddler, he had that wide eyed grin and would hug anyone. He was humbled and proud of the accomplishments of his immediate family.
As he developed into a young man, his plans were to do bigger and better things in life with interest in an entrepreneurial business.
Quintin's absence leaves a tremendous loss in the lives of family members and many dear friends. Blessed are those who knew him and his cheerfulness. He was a beautiful spirit who touched the lives of many.
