

Randy L. Mendenhall, age 61, passed away February 25, 2016. He was born September 1, 1954 in Zanesville, Ohio. Following his graduation from Whitehall-Yearling High School in 1972, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a signalman in the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post #490 in Whitehall. Randy was passionate about painting and golf. He loved to reminisce about the day he met former president Gerald Ford at the Memorial Tournament. He enjoyed rock n' roll and was an avid fan of the Buckeyes and the Browns. Randy was preceded in death by his father Merritt C. Mendenhall. He is survived by his parents, Raymond B. and Norma Jean Burris; children, Rebecca (James) Ries, Jeffery Sr. (Brenda) Mendenhall and Nicole Mendenhall; grandchildren, Jeffery Jr., Blaine, Victoria, Vance, Jeremi, Stacy, Brady and Kenedi; brother Timothy (Candi) Burris and beloved 4 legged friend, Oreo. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm Friday, March 4, 2016 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232 where family will welcome friends beginning at 2pm.
