Raymond Ellis Johnson

Raymond E. Johnson, Jr., age 73, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born on July 27, 1944 in Panther, WV to the late Raymond E. Johnson, Sr. and Ada (Justice) Johnson. He was a stand-out basketball and football player at Iaeger High School in Iaeger, WV. Ray retired from Lucent Technologies and was an avid golfer on many leagues. He was a loving husband and father and will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his sisters, Rhonda Johnson, Lola Carson, Sue (Herbert) Lester and Donna (Shafter) Hunt and granddaughter, Sierra Stough. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret (Wolfe) Johnson; daughter, Kathy "KJ" (Kevin) Johnson Shields; siblings, Wilma (Tommy) Mullins, Patricia (Grafton) Wine, Teddy (Gaye) Johnson, Troy (Bunny) Johnson, and Harold (Lori) Johnson; a multitude of nieces and nephews; special friends, Dave and Maggie Stewart. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Asbury United Methodist Church South, 4760 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232, where family will receive friends one hour prior.
