Rebecca "Becky" L. Soma

Rebecca Leigh Soma, age 63, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Becky was born on November 2, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio. She enjoyed crafting and restoring furniture. She loved movies and always loved being with her family. Becky always made her family a priority. Becky will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Soma; son, Donald E. Barton, Jr.; mother, Dorothy “Dottie” Combs; father, John H. Hammond; sister, Carol Robinson; niece, Tammy Robinson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eva and John Soma. Becky is survived by her loving children, Shawn (Wendy) Barton, Ashley (Robert) Weekley, and Cody Soma; grandchildren, McKayla (Seth) Cook, Cierra Barton (Colton), Brock Barton, Laken Weekley, Donald E. Barton III, Ethan Weekley, and Waylon Barton; great-grandchildren, Braxton Cook and Waylon Cook; brother-in-law, Jim (Tara) Soma; sister-in-law, Lori (Ron) Boerner; numerous nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, Demon. Family will receive friends 2-4 pm Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm.
