

Richard William Banks, age 86, of Dublin, died March 6, 2012. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and worked for Rockwell Aircraft for 33 years until his 1986 retirement. Retired Lt. Colonel, U.S. Army. Traveled extensively as a member of the Columbus Unit of WBCCI from 1965 to 2005 and served as Unit president in 1973 and Region 4 president in 2001-2002. He was a member of Worthington United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and wives, Christine Conner Banks (1994) and Mary Ellen Busch Banks (2011). Survived by children Robert W. (Teresita) Banks of Petersburg, VA, and his children, Matthew and Amanda; Christina Lynn (Christopher) Compson and their children, Christopher and Victoria, of Upper Arlington; Timothy A. (Luann) Banks and their children, Jeffrey and Kathleen, of Houston, TX; Richard F. (DeAnna) Banks and their daughter, Kaley, of New Bern, NC. Also survived by step-children Melody Ley (Scott Snyder) of Austin, TX, and her children, Derrick Ley and Allison Williams; Marla (Mike) Lieber of Baltimore, OH, and their children, Matthew Lieber and Molly Mentges; Mitzi Busch (Craig Derexson) of Chillicothe and her children, Shayne and Chelsea Newlun; and Mark Busch (Shelly McDonald) of Chillicothe and her children, Cassady Lawson and Chase Hough. Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday, March 9, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High St, where family will also receive friends from 9 A.M. until time of service Saturday. Rev. Cyndy L. Garn officiating.
