

Richard Allin Decker, age 65 of Dublin, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 5, 2012. Rich was born February 1, 1947 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, son of the late Robert and Anne Decker. Also preceded in death by his brother, Bob Decker. Following high school, Rich was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. Upon his return home, he graduated from Rio Grande College in 1971. It was there he met and married his wife Carla and the two of them went on to start their family and share in 42 years of marriage. Throughout Rich’s career he worked in Sales. He was truly the kind of guy who could talk to anyone. He had a great sense of humor, was a tremendous storyteller, and possessed the most loving boisterous laugh anyone could imagine. Rich lived everyday of his life with pride and honor, qualities he passed on to his children. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Carla Decker; children, Sean Decker (Shana Wren), Ryan Decker, and Megan Decker; granddaughter, Veronika Decker; mother-in-law, Virginia Hooker; brother, Norman Zamboni; sister-in-law, Sharon (Jim) Rees; uncle, Victor Kolz; and countless extended family members and dear friends. Memorial service will be held at 3:30 P.M. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., where family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until time of service.
