

Richard W. Fortune Sr., age 53, of Columbus, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012. Richard was a loyal, patient, kind man with an uplifting sense of humor. He was the baby of his two siblings. He enjoyed spending his time with family and playing board games, especially Scrabble. He retired as a Supervisor for the Columbus Developmental Center after 30 years of service. Richard will dearly be missed and remembered for all the laughter and joy he brought to so many people’s lives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy B. Fortune. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Choice Fortune; children, Evelyn Owens, Richard Wilson Fortune Jr., and Quiana Brickerson; step-children, Tiana Lynette and Michael Holland; siblings, Brenda (Harold) Jones and Kay Fortune; grandchildren, Ray’mond Mayo, Sa’mone Brickerson, Natalia Fortune; step-grandchildren, Kamya and Makya Holland; mother-in-law, Brenda Holland; nieces, Shanya (Marcus) Powell, Nakisha Bowman, and Natasha Bowman; and a host of many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1909 Reynoldsburg- New Albany Rd., Blacklick, OH 43004, where family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
