

Robert L. "Bob" Basinger, age 70, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Bob was born on September 18, 1946 in Lewiston, Maine to Robert L. Sr and Dorothy (Paradis) Basinger. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Psychology. Bob worked many years as a Nursing Home Administrator and Columbus Developmental Center as a Unit Manager. Bob was the Founder and President of Basinger Inc. a Non-Profit organization committed to providing the very best in-home support for individuals with disabilities. Bob served our country in the US Air Force as a Medic. He was a member of American Legion Post #201 and attended St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He will be remembered for his mission and dedication to helping people with disabilities, along with his love for his family. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom and Barry Basinger. Survived by his wife, Victoria Basinger; children, Robert M. (Leslie) Basinger, Jennifer M. Basinger and Erica L. (Adam) Schomaker; step-children, Eric (Kathryn) Johnson, Amber King and Nicole (Frank Horn) Johnson; many grandchildren; brothers, John "Honest John" Basinger and Mark Basinger; along with extended relatives. Family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the HOPE and HEART FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, October 6, 2016 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2165 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43223 with Fr. Ronald J. Aubry Celebrant. Interment Ss.
