Robert Edward Fritz

Robert E. Fritz, age 88, of Columbus, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012. He was born July 20, 1924 in Columbus to the late Edward and Mary (Alley) Fritz. He was a 1942 graduate of Columbus Central High School and a U.S. Navy WWII veteran. He owned and operated Bob Fritz’s Barber Shop for 56 years and he was always grateful for the support of his customers and friends. He groomed and trained Thoroughbreds as a young man and had a lifelong love of horse racing. He was a member of VFW Post #4044. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his daughter, Susan (David) Powell of Brighton, MA; his sons, Michael (Pamela) Fritz of Tempe, AZ; Thomas (Teresa) Fritz of Odessa, FL, and Robert (Jamie) Fritz of Penn Hills. PA; his granddaughters, Sarah Powell of Charlottesville, VA and Abby Powell of Maumee, OH; his grandson, Alex (Colleen) Powell of Brighton, MA; and his great-grandsons, Lincoln and Roscoe Powell of Brighton, MA. Family will receive friends Monday from 3-5 and 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10AM.
