

Robert Vernon Grotsky, age 88, a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2014 at home. He was born October 2, 1925 to the late Benjamin and Alice (Mock) Grotsky; also preceded in death by his brothers, Benjamin, Louis and Jack. Bob served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the City of Columbus. He married his wife of 66 years, Elnora Mae Huber on May 10, 1947 and together raised 2 sons, Robert (Sue) and Michael (Celeste). He is also survived by grandchildren, Robert, Jr. (Lisa) Grotsky, Theresa (Tim) Bragg, Nick Grotsky and Donna (Dave) Steyer; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Dillon, Travis, Brooke, Danielle, Annie Grace, Justin and Zach; sisters Sylvia Gulliford and Alice Trott; step-sisters-in-law Jean Jackson and JoAnn Carpenter; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church. Bob, also known as “Sock” to many, was an avid sports fan: OSU football, basketball, Bengals, Reds, Clippers…he loved them all! He was happiest out hunting with his beagles by his side, fishing at Buckeye Lake, golfing, bowling, or just spending time with his family. Family will welcome friends 12-1pm (Service at 1pm) on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229 with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens; Rev.
