Robert (Bob) Allen Landthorn, age 75, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 7, 2021, with his loving wife by his side. Bob was born in Columbus, Ohio, on April 7, 1945 to the late Ernie and Helen Landthorn. He is survived by his devoted wife, of 52 years, Shirley; daughters, Tricia (Marinko) Gvozdanovic, Lori (Jamie) Schroeder; son, Jeff (Lindsey) Landthorn; and seven wonderful grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Poppy". He is also survived by his siblings, Ron (Mimi) Landthorn and Susie (Brad) Holland; brother-in-law, Bert Puskas; and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many beloved friends, employees, and customers. He will also be missed by his adoring dog, Roxi. Bob graduated from West High in 1963, and received his B.S, E.E. from the Ohio State University in 1968. He was a member of OSU R.O.T.C., and was a commissioned officer in the
U. S. Army. He retired with honors, as a Captain USAR. In 1985, he and Shirley started Dublin Technical Systems, Inc. in the basement of their home, then moved to the Corporate Park of Dublin, where in 1995, they built at their current location, 6199 Shamrock Ct. They loved working together as partners at DTSI, (people often asked how they did it), and being not only "bosses" to their many, many loyal employees, but friends, and confidants, too. Bob loved playing golf (especially with his West High "Buds"), Willie Nelson, and Jim Beam. He also loved his Cleveland Browns (no matter what), and was a devoted, life-long fan of the OSU Buckeyes, and the OSUMB. He was a member of the Dublin A.M. Rotary Club, Instrument Society of America, The Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, Muirfield Village Golf Club, and the Memorial Club. He especially loved being a Scoring Observer at the Memorial Tournament each year. Bob could fix anything that was broken, and as Shirley always said, if you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how a watch worked! The family will receive visitors from 12-1 on Friday, February 12, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, and the funeral service will be webcasted at 1 P.M. at https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1119564.
Private interment will be at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the James Cancer Hospital, Nationwide Children's Hospital or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Columbus Chapter.
