Robert R. Reed

Robert R. Reed, age 86 of Blacklick, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011. Robert was born in Cleveland and grew up in the Columbus area, son of the late Perce and Marie Reed. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Perce Reed Jr. He will be missed and is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Esther Marie Reed; daughter, Donna Lisa Reed and her life partner Joseph John MacDuffie; Robert’s sister, Ruth Carol (Andrew) Van Houten; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Robert, most often known as Bob, attended South High School, served in the Army, earned his GED, and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate Degree from OSU. Bob used his military benefits to help get through college. Bob was proud of his success in his law practice. Bob served as Special Counsel for nine different Attorney Generals since 1971. He was one of the early Real Estate Brokers in central Ohio to join the Columbus Board of Realtors, with his company Robert R. Reed and Associates. Bob enjoyed his long time memberships with the Guild Athletic Club and the Columbus Athletic Club, where he exercised and kept fit through his 80’s. Bob attended Brookwood Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, May 13, 2011 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Thursday. Pastor John Birkner officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg.
