

Coach Bob Tucker, died unexpectedly in Worthington, Ohio on March 5th, 2017 at the age of 73. Coach Tucker is survived by his wife, Lynn Tucker; children, Diana Tucker (Mark Russo), Michelle Schroder (Eric) and Scott Tucker; sisters, Judith Fink and Sue Watson, nephews & nieces; Mike Fink, Terri Feyedelem (Daryl) & their children, Morgan & Kyle, Tom Watson (Lauren) & their children, George & Riley. He is preceded in death by his parents Catherine and Delbert Tucker of Sandusky, Ohio. Bob was born on April 1st, 1943 in Sandusky, Ohio to Catherine and Delbert Tucker. He graduated from The College of Wooster in 1965 and received a master's degree from Penn State in 1967. He married Lynn Jaffray, his college sweetheart in 1966, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2016. Coach Tucker began a 45-year storied and successful coaching career with stops at Penn State, Massillon High School, Wichita State, Iowa State, the College of Wooster, Youngstown State and twice at Ohio State. In 2009 he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association.
He maintained lifelong relationships with coaches and players, influencing them in life well beyond the game of football. After his retirement from coaching, Bob focused his dedication to coordinating military appreciation and outreach from the Ohio State Football program. In his retirement, he enjoyed following his passions of golfing, biking, traveling and visiting friends and family around the country.
He was a loving father, brother, son, uncle, friend and devoted husband. He was known for his generous nature and always putting others first.
“Good and clean and right” as Coach Tuck would always say, “Go Bucks”.
Donations in his memory can be made to two organizations he was passionate about the USO and Faith Mission. A visitation will be held Thursday March 9, 2017 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High St. Worthington OH, 43085. A funeral service will take place Friday March 10, 2017 at 11am at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High St, Worthington, OH 43085.
