I was very saddened to hear that Coach Bob Tucker passed away. Coach Tucker recruited me to Iowa State in 1978. I liked and respected him. He was a great coach and a class man. Coach Tucker cared about his players and was close to them. He showed his regard for his players in many ways. Coach Tucker was interested in players' outside activities and their families. He was always willing to listen to anything the players wanted to talk about. Players knew that anything Coach Tucker was doing was for the good of them and for the good of the team. Gone too soon. I'm thankful to have known him.

Lynn, it was so good to be able to see and visit you and Coach at Coach Vandersall's bedside in Lakewood, Colorado last September.  The old roommates are together again and we miss them both, but look forward to joining their team, when it is our turn to be called home.  We have many fond memories of those early days of Coach's career at Wichita State University.  My class was the first WSU Freshman class recruited by the new staff of coaches in 1969 and Coach Tucker was our Head Freshman Coach.  That was back in the days when Freshman could not play varsity football and we had our own schedule of games.  Coach shared the principals by which he lived with his players and he expectations for our living up to those principals were high. Bob nicknamed me Uncle Frank during the 2002 Fiesta Bowl.  I took care of the Player's Hospitality suite at the team hotel for the Fiesta Bowl and through the experiences of that amazing week, Bob and I forged a friendship.  We bumped into each other during my visit to OSU for the official invite for the Buckeyes to play in the 2016 semi-final playoff game at the Fiesta Bowl.  Little did I know it would be the last time we would embrace.  My thoughts and prayers to the entire family.

Sorry for your loss.My two son's,Mark and Chris Solis played for Coach Tuck at Wooster. He was a great coach and mentor to the boys!They loved playing for him. He was always a gentleman to me and my late wife,Christy,The Cow Bell Lady! I always enjoyed talking to Coach Tuck about life and football. He will be greatly missed.

Coach Bob Tucker from Sandusky, OH, had a great teaching and coaching career at Wichita State, Iowa State, Ohio State, and Wooster.  My most recent remembrance of Coach Tucker was when his Wooster team played at Defiance College where I was coaching.  We had a chance before the game began to talk and catch up a little. I am so sorry to hear about his sudden death.  My sympathies are with his family and friends at this time.

Coach Tuck was one of the most caring and hardworking people I've ever known.  I can remember how excited I was to be coaching with a guy who was the defensive coordinator at OSU after he called and offered me the job at the COW.  He was a perfect mentor for an aspiring young coach and I learned more about being a humble, trustworthy, caring and kind person than I did about football.  The X's and O's and football stories were wonderful as well!  Tuck tried to help and improve the chances for success with everyone he touched.  He is most definitely the kind of person you would want to be a friend, neighbor or "coach".  I know he will be dearly missed by family and friends.  Buckeye Nation lost one heck of a pillar, however, Heaven has surely gained a new "Super Fan" in Coach Tucker!

Coach Tucker was one of the most amazing people to work along side of, not a day went by that Coach Tuck didn't ask how I was doing.  Once I got married and had kids he always made sure they had fun on our weekly family night dinners on Monday's during the season.  He coined the phrase and basis for the Buckeye Football team that he put on the  bottom of every weeks game itinerary, "A Sacred Brotherhood of Trust".  I've never seen a person that had as much love and respect for our men and women that serve this great nation, even after he retired he always made time for the military men and women.  The world lost a great man, father, co-worker, and caring person.  I will forever be touched by Coach Tucker.

Coach "T"  left such a lasting impact on me, my family and on those who had the honor and privilege to be associate with him. He cared deeply for his players as athletes and wanted nothing more than for them to succeed on the playing field and in life. Beyond the playing field, his commitment to our men and women in uniform reflected his true nature as a human being...someone who supported, served and cared for the needs of others, more than his own.

Bob spent his life giving to others....always with a spring in his step and a smile on his face.  He gave to his family....he gave to God....he gave to his student athletes....he gave to his friends.  He never asked for anything in return.  Instead, he would be the first to tell you how blessed he was.  Bob Tucker is my definition of a role model.  One of those people you'll never hear anyone say anything bad about!  I only hope the thousands that he impacted will strive to be more like him.  If so, we'll have a much kinder, loving, giving world.  I know my life was more enriched for spending time around Bob Tucker....#RIPcoachTuck....we all love you....

I was shocked and very saddened to hear of Bob's passing.  I can't tell you how much he influenced me as a young coach and a young professional.  My year with him at Wooster was so valuable into shaping me as a person and a leader and I will never forget how he treated people while maintaining his high level of integrity and values.  I can tell you that I modeled his beliefs and conduct in my years coaching, my career as a Superintendent, and still today while working in the private sector.  He is certainly on my short list of influential mentors and friends.  There are some people you will never forget and Coach Tucker is one of them for me.  Thank you for sharing him with all of the other coaches and athletes he influenced during his life.  His legacy is spread throughout the thousands of people he touched over the years.  My heart goes out to you and your family.  In the years to come, may memories of him bring a smile to your face as it will for so many others.  May he rest in peace

Sending our sympathy to your entire family.  It was always a pleasure to get together with you and Bob when Michelle and Jessica were participating in the Rotary exchange program.  Bob loved sharing stories of Michelle's adventures in Spain.  Many years ago when Bob returned to OSU I sent him a congratulatory note, never expecting to hear from him.  He took time out of his busy schedule and sent us the nicest response.  He was a true gentleman.  May all your happy memories be a comfort at this difficult time.

Coach Tucker was such an amazing person.  Not only a great coach, and a great family man... he was a passionate supporter of the military, and Veterans, and Wounded Warriors.  Coach Tucker was one of the first people to reach out to me and help me during a very critical time of recovery.  Thank you for taking time to take care of me and my family.  My life is better because you were in it.  I miss you, Bob.

What a great guy!   Played against him in Fremont Vs Sandusky HS football.  Played beside him at the College of Wooster, and coached against him when he was at Massillon.  I followed his career in coaching and admired all the work he did.  He will be missed.  My sympathy goes out to Lynn and their family.

I knew Bob starting from elementary school days in Sandusky. He always stood out as one of the finest people in our class all the way through graduation in 1961. We all respected him and knew that great things were in store in his future. It is no surprise to read about his positive influence on hundreds of young people. Everyone admired him so much, and his loss is deeply felt by so many. My most sincere condolences to his family and friends.

My sincerest condolences to Bob's family at this time. Bob assisted with my Sandusky High Football team after he graduated from Wooster. He was a great guy and a great coach. But through the years it was wonderful to see his growing success in football and life, and to say, "I know that man. He was once my coach!" Though Bob was what I considered a VIP at Ohio State, whenever we met he was the same humble man. He will be missed!

Coach, we will miss seeing you pushing your cart down number one fairway early in the morning . Your love of the game and life and the gratitude you gave when we would give you a few golf balls. I had the wonderful experience of being a part of Bob's football staff at the College of Wooster from 1986-88.  I remember being uncomfortable about joining his staff as I really didn't feel qualified to be a coach at that level, but Bob believed in me and welcomed me and made me feel like I was "somebody".  That is how Bob made everyone feel, he always thought more highly of others than he did himself.  Go Scots! Go Bucks!
