Rod Mayo

Rod Mayo age 74 of Worthington, Ohio died February 7, 2021. Rod was born in Cleveland, Ohio February 24, 1946 to the late Alvin Mayo, Sr. and Vera Donohue Mayo. Survived by his wife Jackie, sister Barbara Mayo Sickler (Lou) of Denver, Colorado and nephew Cody Sickler. He was a 1964 graduate from Orange High School, Pepper Pike, Ohio. He received a Mechanical Engineering degree from Duke University (Delta Tau Delta) in 1969. He earned an Executive MBA from The Ohio State University, Fisher School of Business in 1983. Rod worked as a Sales Engineer for Trane Columbus for over forty-nine years. He was a Trane Top Ten Sales Engineer many years. He served as past president of ASHRAE and was active in the Building Industry in Central Ohio. Rod served the Bainbridge Condo Association and embraced his home community and neighbors. Rod enjoyed being with people and sharing his hobbies of traveling, sailing, biking, reading and nature. Rod was a generous and kind man to friends and family and endeared by all. A private interment will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Clearwater, FL. Contributions can be made to Mid-Ohio Food Bank in his memory.
