Ronald James Jernigan

Ronald James Jernigan, age 61, longtime Gahanna resident, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014. Ron was born in Columbus, raised in Gahanna, son of the late James Alvin and Carolyn Ann (Kandel) Jernigan. Ron graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School, Class of 1971. He has been employed at Dave Gill Pontiac/Chevrolet for more than 40 years. Ron was a thoughtful, unselfish and giving man. He was an active member of Gahanna Community Congregational Church. While there he directed the Junior Bell Choir, was a member of the Adult Bell Choir, enjoyed singing in the choir and the Christmas musicals, and was a member of the Men's Brotherhood. Ron also enjoyed cooking, taking care of his tropical fish, and washing cars every Friday evening. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Donna; son, Luke (Katherine); grandchildren, Nathan (6) and Elizabeth (3); brother, Richard (Sally); sister, Judith; nephews, Jacob and Kevin; loving uncle and cousins, extended church family and dear friends. Memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Gahanna Community Congregational Church, 470 Havens Corners Rd., where family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until time of service.
