

Ronald C. Mann, age 82, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 4, 2012 at Yorkland Park Care Center; U.S. Army Veteran. Ronald was born December 25, 1929 in Columbus, the son of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Chapman) Mann. He was a graduate of East High School and The Ohio State University, where he earned a BS in Business Administration. Ronald had a long and fulfilling career with IBM, where he began as a business analyst and then advanced to manager of personnel and finally retired from a position in world trade technical support. He served on the Human Rights Commission in New Rochelle, NY and was an active supporter of Directions for Youth in Columbus where he had served on the board of directors. Ron personified strength, honor, character and compassion. In the words of Aaron Stinson, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, mentor and friend to many. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Jane (Snyder) Mann; children, Timothy (Patricia) Mann of Columbus and Elizabeth Mann of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Tony, LaChelle, Timothy, Brett, Courtenay, Alexis and Todd; great-granddaughter, Winter; godson, Craig Franklin; goddaughter, Terri Pyant; special relative, Richard Covington and many special friends who were just like family to Ron. At Ron’s request there will be no public services and cremation will take place in the care of Schoedinger East Chapel (614-861-6268). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Directions for Youth, 1515 Indianola Ave., Columbus, OH 43201.
