

Ronald C. Treon, age 85 of Dublin, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021. Ron was born in Marion, Indiana and grew up in Kokomo, Indiana, son of late Charles and Martha Treon. Ron began a career in public service working as a firefighter in Van Wert, Ohio. Shortly after, Ron realized that a career in law enforcement suited him better. In 1965 he transitioned to the Van Wert Police Department, where he worked as Chief of Police from 1981-1989, and Chief of Police with the City of Grandview Heights from December 1989 until his retirement in January 1995. Ron was a member of The Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, Fraternal Order of Police, Capital City Lodge #9, and was a 32nd degree Mason. Ron enjoyed being an amateur radio operator, call sign K8PFD, and was also a member of the Van Wert Amateur Radio Club, ARRL National Association for Amateur Radio, Central Ohio Radio Club, and Capital City Repeater Association. In his spare time Ron also enjoyed model railroading and genealogy research. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary Treon; daughters, Deborah Wagner and Sheila Treon; granddaughters, Whitney Wagner, Quincy (Keith) Booker, and Kelsey (Derek) Ketchum; 2 great granddaughters; 3 great grandsons; sister, Graceann Petsel; former spouse, Lois Allen; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Per Ron's wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST.
