Ruby L. Brooks, age 78 of Westerville, died July 30, 2014 at home surrounded by family. Born May 3, 1936 in Taulbee, Kentucky. Retired in March 1999 from Yerke Mortgage Company. Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by husband, Donald H. Brooks, son, Donald W. Brooks, father and mother, Henry and Lillie King, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Survived by son, Joseph W. (Beth) Brooks of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; daughter, Renata (Steve) Cheeseman of Thornville, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Ruth Brooks; 8 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; brothers, David (Cora Mae) King of Perkins, Indiana, Bobby (Marcile) King of Campton, Kentucky, and Paul (Andrea) Barnett of New Haven, Indiana; and many nephews, nieces, and friends. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday, August 1, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel. Paul Barnett officiating and burial will be at Fancher Cemetery immediately following services.
