

Sally Haniewich Wandel died at her home in Westminster Thurber in Columbus, OH on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Sally was a quilter, knitter, reader, traveler, as well as a golfer. She was a long-time member of First Community Church where she was a Preschool Teacher and Facility Manager, Scheduler and House Keeping Manager. She also was the Director of the Boarding Home Network within the Ohio Youth Services. Sally loved to garden and have birthday parties for all the family. She had very close and dear friends with whom she met weekly for over 30 years. Sally’s travels with her husband took her all over Europe and countries on the mediterranean, but her favorite two trips were an African Safari with her oldest daughter and a 50th Anniversary trip with the whole family to Alaska. She and the whole family spent the early summer on the Outer Banks for 50 years. Sally Wandel was preceded in death by her parents Fred J. Haniewich and Wilhelmina (Billie) Sprenger Haniewich, her sister Carol Worth and her grandson Marcus Styer. She is survived by her husband Robert Nathan Wandel and her daughters Christine Lynn Casavant (Marcel), Beth Jean Wandel, and Audrey Ann Butler (Curt), all of Columbus; grandchildren Jonathan Styer (Sara), Zachariah Butler, Lauren Styer Patris de Breuil (Matthieu), Matthew Butler, Kyle Wandel (Courtney), Robert Paul Casavant and great-grandchildren Kodi, Kamela, Madden, Luka, Ace, Leo, Audreyana, Vera and Violet. The Family will receive Friends at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road in Upper Arlington on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 3:00-6:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1:00pm at First Community Church South Campus, 1320 Cambridge Blvd, Marble Cliff, OH.
