

Sandra Kay Cox, age 59 of Worthington, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014. Sandy was born and raised in Columbus, daughter of the late Ramon and Olivia “Lee” Cox. Sandy graduated from Brookhaven High School, Class of 1973 and The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelors in Education in 1977 and a Masters of Arts in 1992. Following college, Sandy began her teaching career with Columbus Public Schools at Whetstone High School and Linden McKinley High School where she taught English Speech and Theater. In 2000, she took a position within the school system working as an Administrator based at Linden McKinley. She was very active with her students and was most passionate about her role within the performing arts department directing numerous high school productions. Sandy was also a member of many professional and civic organizations, including past board member of the Ohio Theater Alliance. Sandy was a caring and outgoing woman. She loved the Buckeyes, traveling, riding horses, and was a Disney collector. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Robin (Lynda Hickman) Cox, Anita (Dave) Dawson, and Kevin (Stephenie) Cox; aunts, Lucy Groves and Betty Tedeschi; uncle, Nick Ventresca; numerous cousins; beloved horse, Woody; faithful dog, Lucy; cats, Amelia, Oliver, and KC; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Sandy is also preceded in death by her greyhounds, Rebel, Mickey, and Chopper. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, September 15, 2014 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Rd. Family will receive friends from 2-5 P.M. Sunday at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N.
