Shirley Joan Wagner

Shirley was born on January 7, 1924 in Tarrytown, New York to the late Harold F. Newcomer and Irene Newcomer. She graduated from Needham High School, in Needham, Massachusetts in 1942 and from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in 1946. She was a member of the Alpha XI Delta sorority. Shirley met her husband, John C. Wagner, at UNH and married August 24, 1946. They were happily married for 58 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Steve) Gemma of Dublin, OH, Carol (Geoffrey) Stoner of Cambia, CA, five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Shirley was a member and of Boulevard Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, a member of the Columbus Bar Association Alliance, and a lifetime member of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra- Melody Unit.

Shirley will always be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road. Celebration of life will be on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Boulevard Presbyterian Church at 10:00 am, 1235 Northwest Blvd.
