

Stanley G. Cozart, age 88, of Upper Arlington, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at his residence. He was born September 27, 1920 in Longbottom, Ohio to Hubert and Ruth (Hilton) Cozart. He graduated from Racine High School and from The Ohio State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, WWII, 450th Bomb Group, Italy 1943-45. Stan taught math and science in Harrison, Ohio before starting his career with Motorist Insurance Company, where he retired as Senior Life Underwriter. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, community volunteer at the Lutheran Social Services Food Pantry, was an avid reader, and enjoyed golf and bowling.
Stan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lillian Cozart; daughter and son-in-law: Karen and James Walker; son and daughter-in-law: Craig and Jane Cozart; grandchildren: Matthew Walker and Megan (Roger) Wiltfong; brother, Gerald (Lena) Cozart; sisters: Marge (Al) Clark, Maxine Harvey, Fern Davis and Patty Compton. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Northwest Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43212, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and one hour after the service. Reverend Steve Wachtman officiating. Interment Union Cemetery with military honors provided. Contributions may be made in Stan’s memory to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
