

Thelma S. Ross, age 83, of Upper Arlington, died Monday, May 9, 2016 peacefully at the Kobacker House. Thelma and her family journeyed a 16 year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Graduated from Norwood High School near Boston, and Forsyth Dental School. She was a 40 year member of First Community Church where she was past President of Women's Guild Q, former wedding coordinator, and active with the Chancel Choir and Chamber Singers. Member of Cursillo #46. Past President of Women's Board at Children's Hospital. Owner of Finishing Touch Interiors. Preceded in death by parents LeForest and Esther Sylvester; and sister, Elaine. Survived by husband Donald L.; children Nancy R. (Robert) Sullivan, of Naples, FL, Susan R. (Joseph) Brady, of Huntington, PA, Jayne M. (Brad) Ward, of Upper Arlington, Donald L. (Joni) Ross, Jr., of UA, Rev. Dr. John F. (Sheila) Ross, Wayzata, MN, Amy E. (Ray) Starkey, of UA; brother Ronald (Gerry) Sylvester; sister Gloria (William) Grasso; grandchildren Katherine, Brady, Carly, Madeleine, Sydney, Olivia, Judith, Mason, Anne Marie, Logan, and Tiffany. Family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road. Funeral service 10 am Saturday, at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd. Private burial will be held later at Kingwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to The Benevolent Fund at Worthington Christian Village or First Community Church Friends of Music in her memory.
